This year’s Stevens football sideline cheerleaders were not your typical cheerleaders. They were a tight group with lots of energy and spirit for their team. Lexi Soesbe, the only senior on the team this year says, “My girls are like my family, and I get to do it (cheer) with girls I love”.
The cheerleaders participate in many events other than just football games such as the heart walk, the down syndrome walk, the Kambestad memorial mile. One of Lexi’s favorite things was getting to teach a kid’s camp where the team teaches cheers and dances to little aspiring cheerleaders.

The at game experience is exhilarating with the bright lights and roars from the crowd that got everyone in the mood to cheer on the Raiders. The cheerleader’s favorite thing to do was stunt and interact with the crowd through crowd cheers. One of the cheerleaders and the crowd’s favorite cheers is “alligator” because its different and spirited. To really feel all the spirit the team has go to a raiders game cause even when the team is down the cheerleaders will be there to keep the spirits high.
