Congratulations to Gabe Cox and Isabell Higgins for being chosen as Stevens Raiders “Athletes of the Week”! Here are their nominations:
Gabe Cox (Soccer) Gabe was an integral part of our success this weekend for a couple of reasons. First, he helped us earn important wins against two Sioux Falls teams, including SFJ which was the #2 team in the state at the time. He had 10 shots, 3 goals, and 1 assist in those wins. Secondly, he is a team leader that is especially helpful on a road trip. As one of two team captains, Gabe is a model of our team’s core covenants. Players that are new to the team can see what it expected of them by watching Gabe in almost any situation both on and off the field.
Isabell Higgins (Volleyball): Isabell opened our season with 26 kills, 2 Aces, and 24 set assists.
