Lillie Hoffman is one of the few hockey players who represents Stevens High School on the ice for Rushmore Hockey. Not only that, but she’s the only senior between both boys and girls.
At the age of four, Hoffman fell in love with sport and has persisted with playing since. Her favorite part of playing is everything from shooting to skating—she sees no negative aspect to all playing parts of Hockey.
As a girl growing up in Rapid City there weren’t many options for playing hockey with other girls. But that didn’t slow Hoffman down, she just loved the game and wanted to play, “There are pros and cons to playing with both the boys and the girls.”
The most important thing she has learned from the sport was how to work with others and not to allow other people to ruin something you love.
Sadly, Lillie finished out the regular season on the bench due to a concussion, but her love for the sport still persisted and she recovered enough to play in the state tournament and finished the year with the Sd Hobey Baker Award,
