The Stevens softball team, coached by Sherry Grismer, had a great run this year with a record of 10-5 and taking home the Consolation Championship.
With the season dedicated to former teammate Sarah Erickson, the “I play for her” motto, traditions and team building led this team down a path of unity and success. With four seniors leading the charge the team went 10-5 during the regular season.
Sophomore Sayde Hunt started at shortstop and had hit a total four homeruns this past season. Hunt claimed that the season had been “fun” and mentioned that they beat many teams during the 2023 season, but they could not take down with the Sioux Falls schools being their biggest competition, namely “… Jefferson because we lost to them last year.”
“I enjoy softball because it is fun, and I like competing and all the adrenaline”, Hunt said.
