What does it take to dominate a sport that demands agility, endurance and split-second decision making and quick reaction time? Tennis players must master not only their physical skills but also their mental resilience to keep their head on the court and stay in flow state. Raider’s tennis started off strong against Aberdeen Central and Yanktonwith some big wins. Raider’s won 8 of the 9 games played against Aberdeen Central.
Josh Mueller had an excellent weekend against Aberdeen and Yankton, Mueller was able to win every dual, so josh and his teammate came out this season being 4-0. Mueller on the individual match side also did great winning 3 of these 4 single matches and only losing one to Yankton. Mueller was asked how he sees the year playing out, “I think that this year we have a very overall solid team that can go a lot farther than last year, we have a chance at the podium, top 5 or better. I think this year is going to go every well and I’m excited to be a part of the team.”
Vincent Robbennolt also had an excellent weekend. The last tournament was a huge success for Robbennolt with him winning 4 duals and beating Yankton who was projected top 5th, which was huge for the raiders, a great start to the season. Overall, Robbennolt and his teammates played very good especially for first matches of the season. “I think this season is going to be very successful for us especially because our varsity team has a lot of good team chemistry. We also have a lot of returning players on the varsity side which is really going to help us. I think we will go far this year as a team.”
