Did you know that over 78% of all seniors across the United States that are in High School are affected by Senioritis? Some of you may ask what senioritis is. It is a term that relates to a feeling throughout senior year. “I know what senioritis is and I really think its going to hit me hard second semester” said Elias Gillen. Max Phares agreed, “Yes I know of senioritis and I don’t think it has hit yet because I only have 1 class in person and the rest are dual enrollments.”
Is senioritis real? I believe that senioritis is real. After being in school for 11 years, getting to your senior year with limited classes and not being bossed around by other kids anymore starts that feeling of wanting to be done. These feelings of senior years plants the seed of becoming unmotivated to go to school and even to do school in general.
For those who aren’t feeling the effects yet and are still regularly attending school, their favorite part of senior year so far is “Being able to play my last year of Football with my teammates before going to college.” said Elias. Phares also felt that sports were the highligh of the year so far, “Being able to play my last year of Golf and coming to yearbook class.”
Senioritis affects more people than some would think so if you’re a teacher who has a good majority of seniors in your class, give them some slack.
