Some say that golf is a long walk spoiled by a little white ball. The seniors on the Stevens boys golf team would possibly disagree. They see the challenges and opportunities that a wide-open fairway can present.

One of those seniors on the golf team this year, Jackson Swartz, thinks that the team did good this season but didn’t think that the team played to their full potential, but when they did put their all into the game they did really well. Swartz was happy with the way he played on a individual level saying, “My overall average was better, and I placed better at the state tournament this year.” His favorite golf course he played at was the Brandon Golf Course. Swartz also did not have any superstitions before a round and he said he just listened to music while he did his regular warm-ups.

In addition to Swartz, the Raider golf team benefitted from the experience of Senior Osten Fromm. Fromm had an overall good time with the team this year while traveling around SD. He had no major problems regarding playing in tournaments and he really felt he improved throughout his game because he put in the time during his off season and during the season. To start off his rounds he does his regular warm-up and no preround ritual because he says, “I’m not really superstitious about that stuff”.  His favorite golf course he played at this season was Hot Springs because he played the best and enjoyed it the most.

Stevens finished the year with a 9th place finish at State, with Swartz tying for 11th place individually.
