The girls’ basketball tournament just wrapped up, and for the first time, there was a 4-peat on the court.
The Raiders Winter sideline cheer team brought home its 4th Spirit of Six Award in a row.
For seniors on the squad, that means they have brought one home very year. Senior and 4-year team member, Abby Cuppy “We are truly so excited to have won this award 4 times. We try to honor and recognize the six cheerleaders lost and their values within cheer and in our daily lives.”
Head Coach Jamiee Exner was beyond belief. “An unexpected honor for a team with heart, spirit, purpose, and drive.”
The Spirit of Six is one of the most coveted awards at the tournaments. The award is in honor of six Rapid City High School cheerleaders who died in a 1968 plane crash, recognizing outstanding cheer squads for sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and behavior.
The Winter cheer team is at basketball games all season long.
