As the end of the year wraps up, a new group of young adults enter the real world at the same time as a new group of young nervous teenagers prepare to become Raiders.
The one thing connecting all these people together is that they all walk on that stage in blue and carry what they learned during their time at Stevens with them for the rest of their lives. For some, the 4 years that are High School are their best years.
The memories carried for a lifetime may be the peak years of your life. For others, high school was spent in preparation for the next step of education. Late nights studying for tests prepares a student for the college expectation. Whether your goal in high school was to enjoy the time with friends or enjoying time in the books, the memories are made possible due to the efforts of Stevens High School.

Without teachers that go above and beyond to not only further educate the students, but also themselves, the expectation of excellence built up wouldn’t push students to excel the way they do. A teacher who has gone above and beyond to further educate students is Carrie Huber. Parker Bartling describes her as “Altruistic and committed to her students. When I was in her class, it felt like she cared about what I was learning instead of caring about the grade at the end of the assignment.”
Teachers like Mrs. Huber are what set Stevens ahead of the competing schools in the state. Another teacher who has helped hold Stevens together since the day he entered the school as a freshman is Bob Julius. His commitment to his students in the classroom, and outside the classroom at extracurricular events, is what makes him truly a special teacher at Stevens High School. Bridger Karn said, “He is very energetic and helps students enjoy the content that they are learning in his classroom. He is an

awesome teacher and having him was super fun”.
The last necessity for a school to be successful is committed students. With teachers who go out of their way to educate students, come students who are equally committed to learning the content that their teachers are giving. Steven’s Raiders aspire to be more than the average high school student, and grades and test scores prove how when you apply yourself more than the bare minimum, excellence is achieved.
