New Carpet on Second Floor

Students and staff were welcomed back to the school year with many changes; an eight-hour day, new technology, a ten-point grading scale, and carpet on the second floor.

Over the summer, janitors cleaned out classrooms on the second floor, band, and choir rooms. They moved all of the items into the Link or the freshmen lunchroom so crews were then able to paint the rooms and put the carpet down.

Junior Brodie Mitchell says, “I’ve seen like ten kids drop drinks and stain the carpet at least so I bet the janitors hate cleaning this up every single day.”

Others say it makes the passing period quieter and gives the second floor a much better look overall. “I am surprised at how quiet our floor actually is now. In the past, I have been able to hear other teachers teaching, but now, I hardly hear a thing. Plus, it just looks nicer and gives it a better feel.” said Mrs. Dame
